Mercury goes into retrograde on the 5th August 2024 till 28th September 2024. 

A retrograde happens when a planet appears to move backward in its orbit from our perspective on Earth. This is an optical illusion caused by the relative speeds and positions of that planet and Earth in their orbits. Since each planet governs a different aspect of our lives, when a planet is in retrograde it takes the themes of that particular planet into its expression in our day-to-day lives.

Mercury governs all forms of communication, including speaking, writing, and understanding. It reflects our ability to articulate ideas and exchange information. This planet influences our thought processes, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities. It’s linked to how we gather, process, and use information. Mercury is also related to curiosity and the desire to explore new ideas. It affects our adaptability and flexibility in thinking. Traditionally, Mercury is connected with travel and trade, influencing short journeys, business transactions, and interactions with others in a professional context. In a natal chart, the placement of Mercury can reveal how someone processes information, communicates, and engages in intellectual activities. It can also show tendencies in how one learns and makes decisions.

Astrologically, Mercury retrograde is often associated with disruptions or challenges in communication, technology, travel, and decision-making.
