A French phrase, not able to be directly translated to English can be understood to mean ‘already seen’. During a moment of remembrance usually during the ordinary course of events of the day you may be washed over with an undeniable sense that you have already experienced or seen a particular moment. These moments typically last from 10 – 30 seconds and should not be confused with a memory or psychic vision. That being said there is a little information out there to bring clarity to the topic of de ja vú moments how they happen, where they originate and arguably the most important question why do they happen.
An extremely difficult phenomenon to study and observe since a defining characteristic of one of these moments is that the realisation must happen during the moment, not anytime before or after. Another notable factor is that in those short moments our senses are extremely sensitive and some of the remembrance will come from smell or how you were feeling at the time not just what you saw or how the events unfolded. It is plausible that this feeling of resonance happens because we dream of the moment prior to it happening but from a spiritual perspective there is a lot to take into account like the possibility of timelines being crossed. If time is not linear then we are supposably experiencing each and every moment at every given second and that would offer some sort of explanation of how de ja vú could occur.
Similar to when we might notice a synchronicity, angel number or message from the divine when we have a de ja vú moment it can cause us to ponder for a second upon the inexplicable interconnectedness of this universe we live in. I believe these moments can be triggers for enlightenment if we chose to explore our curiosity with research and investigation.
